One of the most iconic and challenging monuments in Rust is the Launch Site. Known for its high-risk, high-reward nature, the Launch Site offers players an opportunity to gather top-tier loot, but only if they can navigate its dangers correctly. Home to the Bradley APC, this monument is arguably one of the hardest to run in the game. Whether you're a seasoned veteran or a newcomer eager to get great loot, understanding how to effectively run the Launch Site can make the difference between a successful raid and a crushing defeat.

In this guide, we'll walk you through everything you need to know to conquer the Launch Site, from preparation and approach to navigating its treacherous interiors and securing the valuable loot within. Whether you are just looking to go for some of the easier loot, or you want to take up a fight with the scientists, we got you covered.

What Do You Need to Run Launch Site?

Doing the Launch Site monument in Rust is not something you should just jump head first into. As one of the hardest monuments in the game, there are a lot of things you need to do before going to the monument to make sure you are prepared. As a good rule of thumb, we recommend bringing the following items:

  • A Good Weapon: We recommend bringing at least a Custom SMG or Thompson with 2 or 3 stacks word of bullets at a minimum. Even if you don't run into players, you will be fighting a lot of scientists.
  • Hazmat Suit: Launch Site is one of the most irradiated monuments in the game. Without a Hazmat Suit, you won't last very long.
  • Lots of Water: You will need as much water as you can bring with you to offset the radiation damage while at the monument. Even with a Hazmat Suit, you will still get radiation damage running the whole monument. Bring a jug with 1000ML.
  • Lots of Health: Craft a lot of bandages and bring a lot of food. It is very easy to quickly lose health while running this monument and you will need to have bandages and medical syringes on hand.
  • Green Card: To solve the puzzle, you will need to bring this to do the first step.
  • Red Card: To get inside the main building to the best loot, you will need a Red Card.
  • 2 Fuses: You will need these throughout the puzzle to power entry to the different areas of the monument.

Once you have all of these items on hand, you are ready to run the monument!

Launch Site Loot Map

The most efficent way to do Launch Site is to clear the loot outside of the monument prior to solving the puzzle, below is a map showing all the different crates you can loot at the Launch Site Monument in Rust:

The most important spots to loot are at the bottom left of the map. Be careful though, as this is the area that the Bradley APC tends to patrol. If the Bradley APC sees you, you will probably die unless you have the explosives to kill it.

The Launch Site is a great monument for looting if you can deal with the risk that comes with it. Move slowly, and take your time.

How to Solve the Launch Site Puzzle

The Launch Site monument puzzle is one of the hardest in Rust. To solve the Launch Site Puzzle:

  1. Go to the light blue building on the corner of the monument. Swipe your Green Keycard to enter. Inside the building, place a fuse and flip the switch.
  2. Go to the second switch on the top right of the monument (from the rocket), the switch can be found on the first floor of the building. Place a Fuse and flip the switch.
  3. Enter the main Launch Site monument by swiping your Red Keycard. Kill the scientists on the first floor.
  4. Make your way to the top of the monument by completing the parkour inside of the building and climbing the stairs. There are other green crates throughout the building to loot as well. To get to the top of Launch Site:
    • Climb the stairs from the first level until they end at level 2, from here, you will need to parkour to the top.
    • Go to level 3 by taking the metal ramp, loop around the inside until you get to the middle rocket structure.
    • From the rocket, climb the ladder to the 4th level and loop around until you are at the metal bar to rise to the 5th level.
    • From the 5th level, find the metal ramp that goes to the 6th level. From here, there is a staircase to your right that will take you to the roof.
  5. Kill the scientists at the top of the roof. Collect your loot!

To get down from Launch Site, you can take the elevator at the top of the monument to get to the bottom. If that isn't an option, you can also parkour down the staircase to get to the bottom quickly without taking too much radiation damage.

If all else fails, you can also clip down the wall for minimal fall damage from the top of the monument as long as you hit the first roof at the bottom while clipping the wall.

Conclusion

By following the steps outlined in this guide, you’ll be well-prepared to tackle one of the game’s most challenging monuments.
